Surge Foundry is an AI Product Builder Ecosystem: a free 4-week Builder Sprint turns you into a verified AI product builder, and a permanent ecosystem — a Product Passport, a public Commons, and pathways to jobs, startups and research — carries your work forward long after.
The problem
If you're starting out in AI in India today, your options are narrow. Paid bootcamps cost more than most families can spare. The famous global programs accept a tiny fraction of applicants. Open-source programs teach you to contribute to someone else's project — not to build and own something of your own. And employers, flooded with certificates that certify attendance rather than ability, have stopped trusting most of them. Worse, when everyone can generate code with AI, a full GitHub repo no longer proves you can actually engineer.
The approach
We do one thing well and then compound it. In four intensive weeks you learn AI-native engineering and build a real AI product you own. You keep an engineering journal proving the decisions were yours. A mentor verifies your work against five clear gates, and you earn a Product Passport — a verified record of what you built and what you personally contributed. Then the ecosystem takes over: your product joins a public Commons employers browse, and three doors open — a job, a startup, or research. Many builders come back as mentors, which is how the next cohort gets taught.
The flywheel
The cohort creates the builder. The Product Passport proves the builder. The Commons showcases the builder. Employers discover the builder. The founder and research pathways create companies and knowledge. And alumni return as mentors to create the next generation. That's a flywheel — not a one-time program.
Who we are
Surge Foundry is run by the Surge Foundry Foundation, a non-profit (Section 8) company registered in India. Non-profit is the design, not a footnote: it keeps the program free, answerable to the mission and not to shareholders, with any surplus reinvested in reaching more builders. Where commercial work happens, it happens through a legally separate company at arm's length, so the Foundation always stays what it says it is.

Who it's for
Freshers, students, career-switchers and self-taught developers — 18 or older, any age, anywhere in India, whatever your background. No experience bar. Beginners especially welcome.
Who it's not for
If you want a certificate for watching videos, this isn't it — you'll build, ship, and be verified. If you're a company, you're welcome to engage around the ecosystem — post challenges, mentor, hire from the Commons — but the cohort is for individual builders, not organisations.
